Mohs Micrographic Surgery

Mohs micrographic surgery is a specialized in-office surgical technique for removing skin cancers. The surgeon removes the tumor in the office under local anesthesia. Then, they check the tissue microscopically in the lab while the patient waits. If necessary, additional tissue is removed until there are no cancer cells remaining. Then, the surgeon repairs the wound; all in the same day. This procedure allows the surgeon to remove as little tissue as possible, and give the highest cure rates.
