Dr. Cather McKay is a board-certified dermatologist originally from Mobile, Alabama. She attended Vanderbilt University for her undergraduate degrees in Biomedical Sciences and Spanish, followed by the University of Alabama School of Medicine (UAB) for her medical degree. She then completed an internship in Internal Medicine and residency in Dermatology at Tulane University in New Orleans, Louisiana. Prior to joining Atlanta North Dermatology, she worked in private practice for six years treating patients of all ages for their medical and cosmetic dermatologic needs. She has a special interest in skin cancer and the use of dermoscopy for early detection, as well as the treatment of complex medical conditions such as hidradenitis suppurativa.
During her training, Dr. McKay was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha (AOA) Medical Honor Society and published in top journals. She is active on committees of the American Academy of Dermatology and the American Board of Dermatology, and currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Women’s Dermatologic Society. Dr. McKay lives in Roswell with her husband, the other Dr. McKay, an orthopedic surgeon. They enjoy cooking, traveling, and are huge dog lovers.
